A small bakery rises
With a 100-year old sourdough starter for our sourdough bread handed
down by generations of San Francisco master bakers, we took a leap of faith. We
were so excited there was a growing demand for our hearty natural breads. Since
1991, we have nurtured our unique sourdough bread recipe, beginning in a small 900
sq. ft. deli shop and growing to our current company as a wholesale bread supplier
and grissini breadsticks wholesaler housed in a 20,000 sq. ft. facility. Our facility
delivers thousands of freshly baked sourdough bread across the country. Customers
demanded our famous grissini breadsticks, which catapulted our bread manufacturing
as a wholesale bread supplier and thereby expanded our Premium Private Label Bread
Program.
We crafted the art of bread making as a bread manufacturer in the San Francisco
Bay Area, where we honed our skills, using only the highest quality natural ingredients
available, with the understanding that great bread makes great meals.
Mission
United Bakery's mission as a wholesale bread supplier is to continually strive to
not compromise quality; as a result, the sourdough bread products have a more complex,
intensive flavor, a range of textures and a naturally longer shelf life. We use
many hands on technique, yet maintain the ability to handle a large volume using
state-of-the-art equipment and deliver quality baked breads as a wholesale bread
supplier on a grand scale. Sourdough bread takes a total of 48 hours to produce
the exceptional flavor. It may be more time consuming and more expensive, but we
believe it makes a big difference in the quality of our wholesale bread products.
We let our sourdough bread rise naturally in San Francisco replicated temperature
for 24 hours.

that the best-baked bread goods are made using labor-intensive processes.

We strive for excellence and consistency and focus on the process; consistent flours,
to rich, cultured butter and a rich assortment of ingredients. Due to our consumer
demand, our business has grown, serving top restaurants as a bread supplier to the
largest retailers to natural products grocery stores. We are your neighborhood wholesale
bread bakery, not a cookie-cutter manufacturer and selective of what goes into the
product. We have stayed committed to the baking process for the finest flavor and

Our business philosophy
We are truly grateful of our humble beginnings as a bread bakery. No doubt, it has
been a challenge to manufacture bread, but our hard working, humble beginnings has
taken our journey from our small deli shop producing grissini breadsticks of 20
pounds
per
week to 2500 pounds of grissini breadsticks per day, and 10 sourdough bread loaves
per day to supplying bread over 5000 loaves per day and growing.
Our reason for growth as a wholesale bread supplier is in the quality of our products.
We use 100% all natural ingredients, natural preservatives, no substitutes, real
butter, and real cheese even though we are a bread wholesaler. To name a few; Extra
Virgin olive oil, sea salt, sesame, basil, oregano, garlic, sun-dried tomato, Asiago,
and premium imported Grana Padano cheese.
Our employees are critical to creating and our successful bread products. As a bread
supplier, we are grateful and appreciate the care and commitment our employees'
have contributed.
